Fass 1987 - The Silver SequelFass 1987 - The Silver Sequel
1987 was the 25th anniversary of FASS, and we had a grand ruinion
and a gala final show for all the old former members to come and
see. I also had a Camcorder the entire week and spent time
getting behind the scenes footage. At the time I knew I was being
a bit annoying, and wondered if it would be worth it. 20 years
later I am glad the footage exists.
Now frankly, we got a bit too self-indulgent picking a theme of a FASS
about FASS, but at least as the Gala show you know you had a crowd that would
give a sustained laugh to the opening joke of "You can't live your
whole life for a once a year show."
Directed by Ian Chaprin, CSW was Paul McKone. Done in the Theatre of
the Arts.

Highlights and Interviews

- Dress Rehersal Highlights 330MB
I take the camera onstage to film various snippets from the dress.
A tiny audience, but a different view with much better closeups of
some of your favourite songs and scenes.
- Backstage Questions 49MB
A few random vignettes and then a series of people's answers to
questions designed to be amusing when the secret question is "where
did you lose your virginity?" Intended to be edited down into
something seamless but I'm lazy and don't have good software for that.
- Reunion Audience Interviews 92MB
I talk briefly
with many old FASS figures (20 years younger) from the 70s and 80s. This includes an annoyed
Jim Gardner, Steve Hutton, Ron Dragushan, Linda Loucks, Andrew Forber,
Tracy Tims, Judy McMullen, Randall Howard, Drew Post, John Cappendale
(Fass Nite), Chris Dobbin, Nelson Dyck, Margaret Eaton, Don Heath, Kim Adkins and
a few others.
- Behind the Scenes -- 142MB
20 minutes of Fass members clowning around in front of the camera in
the green room
and other places, including John Watson at Suzanne Langdon running around
interviewing FASS members. Plus our Fire Alarm and other things. Sure
to bring a smile.
Some of the people you will see include Paul McKone,
Lori Sargent, Ken Jones (x3), Andrew Welch, Suzanne Langdon (lots), Jennifer Gamble, John
McMullen, Bob Atkinson, Guy Middleton, Bernie Roehl, John Sellens,
Brian and Alex, Peter Carette, Ian Chaprin, Steve Hayman, Charles Sisson,
Ramona Isaac, Brian MacIsaac, Warriors, John Watson (lots), Alan Bowler,
Eileen White, Elizabeth Fraser, Deanna Fife, me, young Michael Hocaliuk, Dave
Mackett,
Ron Green, Ian being carried by football team, Kerri Garnier,
bridge players, Steve Wilson, Denis Thibeault, ?, Dave Welbourn, Dave Till,
massage trials, JG again, Ellen Hayes as interviewer does Bernie and Rod
Currie, John McMullen (who handcuffs himself to Suzanne), Frank Adams,
Ailsa Page pronounces her name, Edwin Hoogerbeets, Fire Drill, Tom
Hocaliuk, Time Warp clips, dancers, Derek Wilkinson, Lyn Bartram, band,
Munkustrap, Mccavity, Schroedinger (voices of Brian and Alex.)
- Early backstange antics -- 71MB
When I first bring the camera to rehersals, I wander around backstage,
trying things out, and people have fun. Lots of very short clips.
Some of the people include Brian & Alex Martin, Ian Chaprin, Jennifer
Gamble, Ramona Loewen and Suzanne being intimate, Suzanne's breasts,
Carolyn Anglin, John Watson, Ron Green, Alex Kordics, Steve Rapaport,
Lisa Greco, Angela Chambers, more hot girl-on-girl action with Ramona and
Suznne, joined by Kerry and Brian and Chris, Steve Hayman, Mike Van Holst,
Ken Jones, Brenz, Derek Wilkinson, Alex Martin, Charles Sisson and Sue
Mercer, the camera loves Lise Fortin, Paddi Gillard, Dave Mackett,
Jennifer Gamble, Rod Currie and many more.
- Wandering and a warmup -- 66MB
I wander around backstage, capturing various antics for 3 minutes.
This is followed by 3 more minutes of a cast warmup in the green room.
Many featured folks, including Tom Hocaliuk, Preston Gurd, Heather Gurd
with short hair, William Hughes, Ramona Loewen, Steve Kuleshnyk, Suzanne
Langdon, Steve Hutton, Bernie Roehl, Peter Fraser, Tim Tyhurst, Ailsa Page,
Brenda Parsons, Dave Mackett, Tech Crew, Anita Kilgour and many others.
- Ian leads cast warmup -- 68MB
Ian Chaprin leads the cast in warmups in T of A.
- Gonzo Video of Act I, Scene 1 -- 148MB
During a dress rehersal of the opening scene, I carry the camera with me
for an actor's-eye view of the opening scene.
Here's a picture of me doing this.
- A Fass Party -- 43MB
A bit of video from an actual FASS party, with Sex, Drugs and Rock and
Roll. Don't worry, the statute of limitations past long ago on the
2nd one. Yup, some people are not keen on having a video camera at
the party, so I didn't shoot for long, but 20 years later I'm glad
we have it.
- Rehersal Part 1 -- 527MB
An early rehersal, possibly the Tech, run by Ian. People are still making
lots of mistakes, the band is clowning a fair bit. Perhaps the first
group rehersal because the cast in the audience is laughing at stuff.
- Rehersal Part 2 334MB
For the die hards, more video of a tech rehersal. Not everybody's there, so people
sometimes have a bit of fun with it. But this is mostly here if you want to see
your own scenes.
