Prologue of the Gospels -- who was Jesus?

CHAPTER ONE
An angel appears to Zachariah  -  the announcement to Mary  -  Mary and Joseph are married  -  the visit to Elizabeth  -  John the Baptist is born.

CHAPTER TWO
The birth of Jesus  -  the dedication in Jerusalem  -  the astrologers follow the star to Jesus  -  the escape to Egypt  -  the return to Palestine  -  Jesus grows up in Nazareth.

CHAPTER THREE
The preaching of John the Baptist  -  he predicts the ministry of Jesus  -  Jesus is baptized  -  the temptation in the desert.

CHAPTER EIGHT
The healing at Bethesda pool  - Jesus defends healing on a Sabbath -  the disciples are criticized for gathering grain on a Sabbath man with a withered hand is healed  -  the apostles are chosen.

The sermon on the mount.

CHAPTER TEN

CHAPTER TWELVE
The commissioning of the apostles  -  the beheading of John the Baptist  -  Jesus feeds the 5,000  -  the move to make Jesus king  -  he walks on the water  -  Jesus, "the bread of life"  -  some disciples desert.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN

CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Jesus sets out for Jerusalem  -  he is accused of being mad  -  "living water" for those who thirst  -  an adulteress is forgiven  -  Jesus debates with the Pharisees  -  a beggar born blind is healed  -  the parable of the good shepherd.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN
The commissioning of the Seventy  -  the parable of the good Samaritan  -  dinner with Martha and Mary  -  the Pharisees' concern for the external  -  a warning against greed  -  the parables of the wealthy farmer and the faithful servants  -  the worshipers killed in the temple  -  the barren fig tree  -  a woman healed of her infirmity.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
Jesus teaches that few will be saved  -  a man with dropsy is healed  -  the parable of the unwilling guests  -  the cost of discipleship  -  the parables of the coin, the corrupt accountant, and the rich man and the beggar  -  the resurrection of Lazarus  -  the council plots Jesus' death.
